The full and half marathon return to the Ouray to Ridgway course for another year. This is the 19th annual half marathon and 9th annual marathon. Count on another great event!

THANK YOU 2018 Race Elite Runners for competing in our race, we hope to see you back in 2019. Even though we will not have an early start option this year, we will be providing support on the course until 1:00 pm so that all the marathon and half marathon participants have plenty of time to finish.  We love our walkers and any of our participants are free to walk or run the course at any point during the race. Again, there will be plenty of race staff and refreshments at the finish line for all!

Half- Marathon Registration and packet pick is 6:30-7:00 am, at Ouray Community Center located next to Ouray City Hall at 320 6th Avenue, Ouray, Co 81427. Allow at least 10 minutes to walk to start line on Main street. Race starts at 7:30 am
Marathoners can get their packet at the Ridgway Athletic Park starting line at 6:00 am. Race starts at 6:30 am

Kids Race registration on site at Ridgway Athletic Park opens at 9:00 am and race at 10:30 am Ridgway Athletic Park

Similar to other races in the industry, Mt. Sneffels does not refund entry fees, an entry fee into this year’s race does not transfer to next year’s event. This policy applies to individuals with injuries, unexpected business, family emergencies, etc. Additionally, the fee is nonrefundable if the event is canceled due to the threat of or acts of God, war, terrorism, disaster, earthquake, government regulation and/or for economic/financial reasons.  While Mt. Sneffels does not offer refunds or deferrals, registrants may transfer their registrations to a different event on the same day or to another person.

Half - 19 and under, 5 year intervals up to 75+

Slate Awards -Age group winners can pick up their awards at the award table under the tent at the finish line. Top Level Award Presentation will be given at the Ridgway Athletic Park( Finish).

FAQ

At 10:30 a.m., there is a 1-mile Kids Fun Run. $15 registration fee and a finisher medal.

The entry fee for the Marathon and the Half Marathon includes snacks at the finish line, half price admission to the Ouray Hot Springs Pool and to the Box Canyon Falls and an official race tech shirt, race bag and finisher medals. Fees go directly to the Mt Sneffels Education Foundation , a non profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives and educational experiences of the youth in Ouray County.

Throughout the morning (starting from approximately 9:30am), bus transportation will be provided from Ridgway Athletic park (Ridgway) back to Ouray Hot Springs/Fellin Park & Rortary Park. Participants who finish the marathon,and half marathon will be awarded finisher medals.

PACKET PICK-UP AND RACE EXPO NEW LOCATION OURAY COMMUNITY CENTER

Packet Pick-Up for both races will be held at the Ouray Community Center next to Ouray City Hall 320 6th Avenue, Ouray, Co 81427,  on Friday, Aug 16th, from 5-8:00 pm. Packets will also be available for the Half Marathon the morning of the race 6:30 am - 7:00 am at the Ouray Community Center next to Ouray City Hall, .320 6th Avenue, Ouray, Co. 81427 ( located 10 minutes from the start line) Marathoners can get their packet at the Ridgway Athletic Park starting line at 6:00 am. 

RACE DETAILS

The 13.1 mile Half-Marathon course begins at the Ouray Hot Springs Park, north of town in Ouray, Colorado. The race winds through the city of Ouray and then goes north on County Road 17 to County Road 23 along the Uncompahgre River Valley and into the town of Ridgway.

The Full Marathon starts in Ridgway, goes to Ouray on the same course, and returns to Ridgway. The elevation of Ouray is 7792 ft. and the elevation of Ridgway is 6985 ft. This course is primarily on a dirt county road. It's a beautiful route.
